How much is one index point per lot?

NAS100, US30 and US500 are $1.00 per point on 1.00 lot at contract size 1, $10.00 at 10, and $100.00 at 100. GER40 is $1.1181 per point at contract size 1. The size varies by platform.

NAS100$1.00$10.00$100.00
US30$1.00$10.00$100.00
US500$1.00$10.00$100.00
GER40$1.1181$11.1807$111.8068

The dollar value of one point on 1.00 lot changes with the contract size, and that size is not the same on every platform. Match the column to the contract size in your platform specification. GER40 is quoted in euros (EUR/USD 1.11807 on 2026-10-15). USD quotes do not use the 2026-10-15 rates.

  • NAS100, US30 and US500 are quoted in USD, so contract sizes 1, 10 and 100 are $1.00, $10.00 and $100.00 per point on 1.00 lot.
  • GER40 is the euro quote in this table. Its point value uses the bundled euro rate, not a flat dollar.
  • Each amount opens that symbol's lot calculator with the contract size and a 20 point stop filled in.
  • A contract of 10 loses ten times the cash of a contract of 1. The lot from the smaller contract is too large on the bigger one.

Index Contract Sizes

On a $25,000.00 account, risking 1% ($250.00) with a stop of 25 points, NAS100 sizes to 10.00 lots. One point on 1.00 lot is $1.00. The loss at that rounded size is $250.00, with no spread and no commission.

NAS100, US30 and US500 are $1.00 per point on 1.00 lot at contract size 1, $10.00 at 10, and $100.00 at 100. GER40 is $1.1181 per point at contract size 1. The size varies by platform. The rows are NAS100, US30, US500 and GER40. Each dollar figure is one point on 1.00 lot at that contract size, from the same sizing function the calculator uses, with spread and commission left at zero. A row amount links to that symbol's lot page with contract and a 20 point stop in the query, so the lot you see is the prefilled contract rather than the assumed size of 1. NAS100 in the notes below is a separate worked example at contract size 1: $25,000.00 at 1% with a 25 point stop sizes 10.00 lots. That grid is not the contract comparison. Platforms print 1, 10 or 100 for these indices, and some print a dollar value per point that matches one of the three columns. The specification on your platform is the column to open. A lot copied from contract size 1 onto contract size 10 risks ten times the cash. GER40 stays in euros until the bundled rate converts it, so its column is not the flat dollar of the three US indices.

NAS100 contract: 1 units per 1.00 lot. This size is an assumption and differs by platform. 1 point = 1. A 0.01 lot is $0.01 per point, a 0.10 lot is $0.10, and 1.00 lot is $1.00. A 0.01 lot is under the 0.10 minimum, so the 0.01 value is math only. The quote currency is USD, so the 2026-10-15 bundled rates are not applied. Minimum lot 0.10, step 0.10. The lot rounds down, so the loss at the stop stays at or under the risk when spread and commission are left at zero.

The risk table for NAS100 uses stops of 11, 33, 77 points. On $25,000.00 at 1% those three stops size 22.70 lots, $249.70 at the stop; 7.50 lots, $247.50 at the stop; 3.20 lots, $246.40 at the stop.

Questions

How much is one NAS100 point per lot?

At contract size 1, 1.00 lot is $1.00 per point. At 10 it is $10.00. At 100 it is $100.00. US30 and US500 match those three figures because the quote is USD.

Why do index lot calculators disagree on US30?

They disagree when the contract size is 1, 10 or 100. The cash per point moves with that size. Open the matching column and the calculator starts on that contract.

What is GER40 per point if the contract is 1?

$1.1181 on 1.00 lot at the bundled euro rate. Contract 10 is $11.1807 and contract 100 is $111.8068. It is not the flat dollar of NAS100.

Which lot does the notes grid size?

10.00 lots of NAS100 on $25,000.00 at 1% with a 25 point stop, at the assumed contract size of 1. The table above is the contract comparison. The grid stops are 11, 33, 77 points.
